João Morgado presented the work "Cemitério dos Pardais" at BMEL, in a session that featured the author's presence. The book was published by Ego Editora and was distinguished with the Santos Stockler 2024 Literary Prize.
The novel follows an 88-year-old man who lives alone and is almost blind, trapped in his memories while waiting for a phone call. This call may be from his granddaughter, son, a friend or even God, revealing the isolation and loneliness of the main character.
The work constitutes a reflection on themes such as aging, memory and the search for human connection in moments of vulnerability.
