Schools face new school year with challenges ahead

The new school year begins on September 14 in the two school clusters in the municipality. Secondary education starts only on the 21st, due to the special exam period, while the professional courses at Escola Dr. Manuel Laranjeira are expected to begin activities on September 10.

At the Agrupamento de Escolas Dr. Manuel Laranjeira, the start is being prepared within the normalcy possible, despite the events that marked the last months.

In June, the court annulled the appointment of director Manuela Machado. The Agency for the Management of the Education System filed an appeal of the decision and, up to this point, the teacher remains in office.
