Tragedy in Ameixial: man dies in crawler machine accident

A man died this Friday as a result of an accident with a crawler machine that occurred in the area of Azinhal dos Mouros, in Ameixial, in the municipality of Loulé, in the district of Faro. The information was confirmed to the news agency Lusas by a Civil Protection source.

The accident was recorded shortly after 09:00, when the victim was carrying out work in a rural area of the parish of Ameixial. The causes of what happened remain unknown and are being investigated by the competent authorities.

For the rescue operations, 15 operatives were mobilised, supported by five vehicles and a helicopter from the National Institute of Medical Emergency.
