New York opened the session in positive territory, with US inflation remaining unchanged in August at 3.4%. Excluding food and energy, the consumer price index rose 0.4% in August compared to the previous month, penalized by oil prices, having risen to 2.4% year-on-year.

Among the companies with the biggest gains were Boeing with 1.88%, Caterpillar with 1.63%, JPMorgan with 1.53%, Cisco with 1.58% and Sherwin-Williams with 1.30%.
