Metropolitano de Lisboa has launched a new telephone assistance service at the exterior elevators and platform levels of its network, with the aim of strengthening support for passengers with reduced mobility. The initiative allows passengers to directly contact the operational team at the station where they are to request support regarding elevator use or unavailability, ask for information on alternative routes, or request other types of assistance to continue their journey.
Next to each elevator, both outside and at platform levels, a sticker will be placed with instructions, the phone number, and the specific code for the respective station. By calling the line and entering the indicated code, the customer is routed directly to the workers on site, who will provide the necessary support.
The telephone assistance service will operate daily, including weekends and public holidays, throughout the entire operating hours of the Lisbon Metro network, between 06:30 and 01:00.
According to Metropolitano de Lisboa, the measure aims at the continuous improvement of the service provided, especially to customers with reduced mobility, fitting within the work of improving accessibility and the user experience of the network.
