The former president of Lourosa volunteer firefighters began to be tried and chose to remain silent at the beginning of the trial, refusing to answer the court's questions.
The Public Prosecution suspects that the defendant purchased a tanker truck for 750 euros, declaring that the vehicle would be destined for scrapping. However, the truck was later used for irrigation work at companies, raising doubts about the true intention of the purchase.
The trial is underway and the defendant, who no longer holds a position on the fire brigade board, may face charges related to the misuse of funds or resources from the firefighters association.
The case ended up in court after an investigation revealed irregularities in the purchase and use of the vehicle, which should have been scrapped and not used for commercial purposes.
