A huge waterspout formed on Thursday off the coast of Tigullio, near Genoa, in Italy. The meteorological phenomenon did not cause casualties.

The water column advanced through the sea between several vessels, including a tourist ferry. Despite the proximity to the vessels, the waterspout dissipated before reaching the coast.

The phenomenon was captured in images that circulated after the incident, showing the impressive size of the waterspout over the sea.
