ECB raises interest rates again due to inflation

SOL10 September 2026 at 14:03

The European Central Bank raised its key interest rates by 25 basis points for the second time this year. The decision was made in a context of inflationary pressures that the ECB attributes to the conflict in the Middle East. The central bank's stated objective is to stabilise inflation at the 2% target over the medium term. This measure represents a new effort to control the price escalation in the euro area.
