Praia do Pedrógão: Municipality guarantees campsite requalification but does not renew contracts under current conditions

Região de Leiria11 September 2026 at 12:30

The Municipality of Pedrógão guaranteed that the campsite at the local beach will be requalified, but informed that it will not renew contracts under the current conditions. This decision arises at a time of tension between the municipal executive and the park's users.

The PSD councilors raised concerns about the state of the campsite, pointing out serious failures in lighting, cleaning and maintenance of the facilities. These criticisms were presented during a meeting of the municipal executive.

The social-democratic elected officials requested formal clarification on the situation of users who have active contracts with the campsite. They want to know what guarantees will be in place for those who already have commitments established with the infrastructure.

The municipality did not specify what the new contract conditions will be nor did it present a timeline for the promised requalification, leaving uncertainties about the immediate future of the campsite at Praia do Pedrógão.
