The Funchal City Council is closer to being able to take possession of an abandoned building on Rua da Infância, after the conclusion of an inspection of the property. The inspection was carried out to assess the state of the building and gather information necessary for the expropriation or forced acquisition process.
The building in question has been derelict for several years, representing a security and sanitation problem for the surrounding area. The municipal authorities identified risks associated with the state of disrepair of the construction.
With the inspection completed, the municipality is now in a position to proceed with the legal procedures to obtain possession of the property. The objective is to rehabilitate the building and reintegrate it into the city's urban heritage, contributing to the valorization of the area in which it is located.
