The Republican National Guard rescued 13 animals in a serious animal abuse situation in an operation that resulted in the removal of four dogs and nine cats from a location where conditions of neglect and poor hygiene were verified.

The operation involved the collaboration of municipal services, which supported the authorities in identifying and removing the animals from the location where they were found.

The rescued animals underwent veterinary evaluation to verify their health status and determine the necessary care for their recovery.

The authorities proceeded with the opening of an investigation process to determine the responsibilities for the animal abuse situation verified.

Military police officers become defendants for death of doctor after confusing victim's car with suspect vehicle in Cascadura

Two military police officers from the 9th BPM (Rocha Miranda) were made defendants for the death of doctor Andréa Marins Dias, shot after her car was confused with a suspect vehicle during a police operation in Cascadura, in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro. The crime occurred on March 15. The indictment for qualified homicide was filed by the Specialized Group for Public Security Action of the Rio de Janeiro Public Prosecutor's Office (GAESP/MPRJ) against Staff Sergeant José Jorge Ferreira Dias and Second Sergeant Raphael Gomes Damasceno, and accepted by the 2nd Criminal Court of the Capital. According to the prosecution, the officers were pursuing a silver Corolla Cross suspected of involvement in robberies but lost sight of the vehicle.
