Irregular entries in the EU fell 35% in the first eight months of the year

Irregular entries in the European Union fell 35% between January and August this year, compared to the same period in 2025. According to the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex), around 75,000 detections of irregular entries were recorded in the EU during this period.

The agency states that this decrease occurred broadly, although there was an increase in flows through southern Spain. Frontex's statement indicates that the decline was recorded on practically all migratory routes.

Frontex data points to a trend of significant reduction in irregular migratory flows in Europe, contrasting with the occasional increase recorded in the southern zone of Spanish territory.
