Trial of two police officers accused of torture to take place behind closed doors

The trial of the two police officers from the Rato police station, in Lisbon, will take place behind closed doors. The confirmation was given by lawyer Filipa Duarte Gonçalves, who represents one of the officers who is in preventive detention. The start of the trial was scheduled for 09:30.

The two police officers are accused of torture and rape crimes. According to the Public Prosecutor's indictment, the crimes allegedly occurred between July 2024 and March, although the article text appears to be incomplete and does not present the full date.
