Around 9am on Friday, a collision between two vehicles occurred in front of Póvoa Arena, near the lateral exit of the multi-purpose venue. The incident immediately generated heavy traffic congestion, with queues extending along the entire Vasco da Gama Avenue. The presence of the immobilized vehicles at the scene required alternating traffic flow, significantly increasing delays for drivers.

A vehicle from the Póvoa de Varzim Volunteer Firefighters was present at the scene, with two operatives who evaluated those involved and ensured the safety of the area. The accident resulted in only one minor injury, which did not require hospital transport.

With the removal of the vehicles and the normalization of the road, traffic gradually recovered at this point that is usually very busy.
