The Republican National Guard rescued four dogs and nine cats in Ílhavo. The operation was carried out as part of an investigation that had been ongoing for some time.

The animals were found in a state of malnutrition. Additionally, they were kept in poor hygiene conditions.

The authorities proceeded with the rescue of the animals and they were then referred for veterinary care. The state of health of the animals was a concern for the authorities.
