The GNR detained four men in Matosinhos for illegal hunting, with the suspects being captured in flagrante delicto. The operation was carried out by elements of the Republican National Guard within the scope of inspection actions and combating crimes against the preservation of fauna.
The detained men practiced hunting acts in protection areas, zones where this activity is expressly prohibited by law. The authorities identified that the suspects acted in places designated as protected areas, violating the environmental legislation in force.
During the operation, the authorities seized four weapons used in the illegal practice. These weapons were confiscated as evidence and the four detained were constituted as defendants, being subject to the respective criminal process.
