Livestock farming represents between 14% and 18% of global greenhouse gas emissions, according to data from the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). This figure contributes to the narrative that livestock farming is an environmental problem with no easy solution.
However, when production is managed with data and technical criteria, it is possible to notably reduce this footprint without giving up the food production needed for a growing population.
