Hotel Cascais Miragem is moving forward with a collective dismissal, having already notified 177 workers of the decision. The measure will take effect from November 15.

The Southern Hospitality Union revealed that a renovation of the hotel is planned with an investment of 80 million euros. The modernization intervention constitutes the backdrop for this labor restructuring.

According to the union, the hotel's management justifies the collective dismissal as a way to reduce costs. This explanation comes in the context of a substantial investment in the hotel unit.

The process is now proceeding with the formal implementation of the decision, directly affecting the hundreds of workers who have already received their respective notification.

SMAS de Sintra invest one million euros to reduce water losses

The Municipal Water and Sanitation Services of Sintra (SMAS) are investing approximately one million euros to improve the efficiency of the water supply network, through the installation and renovation of Pressure Reducing Valves (PRV) and the creation of Measurement and Control Zones (MCZ). A 720 thousand euro contract will allow the installation of seven new PRVs and the renovation of eight others, while another 300 thousand euro intervention has already created eight new MCZ. These measures are part of the strategy to reduce non-revenue water, which represented approximately 18% at the end of 2025, in a municipality with almost 1,900 kilometres of pipelines. The interventions also include the rehabilitation of pipelines at various points in the municipality and the rehabilitation of reservoirs.
