Consumption in Portugal during the months of July and August saw a 6% growth in the number of operations and 3% in value. This increase reflects greater economic activity during the summer period in the country.
Among the Portuguese who chose to travel during the summer, Spain became the destination that concentrated the highest number of transactions. For the first time, the neighboring country surpassed the district of Faro, traditionally the most sought-after region by domestic tourists.
This data marks a significant change in the travel habits of the Portuguese, with Spain consolidating itself as the main choice for summer holidays. The geographical proximity and diversity of offerings continue to be attractive factors for domestic travelers.
