Car broken down on highway and men end up run over while waiting for tow truck on the shoulder

Two men, aged between 30 and 40, were injured on Thursday night, October 10, after being run over on a highway. The two were waiting for a tow truck on the road shoulder after the car they were in broke down.

The accident occurred while the men were on the shoulder waiting for assistance. According to available information, they were run over while waiting for the tow truck to arrive.

The injured were assisted at the scene and taken to receive medical care. Authorities were on site to control traffic and investigate the circumstances of the accident.

MP requests five years in prison for defendant in Troia shipwreck that killed four people

The Public Prosecution Service requested a sentence of no less than five years in prison for Manuel Coelho, 64 years old, the helmsman and sole survivor of the shipwreck that occurred in April 2024 off Troia, in which four people died. At the Setúbal court, the prosecutor requested two and a half years in prison for each of the four counts of negligent homicide.
