25 days from the election, the Legislative Assembly of Rio (Alerj) lives a contrast between the electronic board and the reality of the plenary. While the majority of the 70 deputies register remote access during votes, physical participation has plummeted: on Wednesday, only ten parliamentarians followed the proceedings in person; yesterday, there were five.
With a reduced quorum, sessions have lasted between 20 and 30 minutes. The possibility of remote participation and voting was established by a resolution created during the Covid-19 pandemic.
In two days, 19 projects were approved, the majority dedicated to tributes. Former Flamengo player Petkovic, for example, received the Tiradentes Medal from deputy Yuri Moura (PSOL), who made the delivery virtually.
