K-pop in Rio: with Stray Kids and Hwasa, the Korean genre gets a day of its own at the festival; check it out

Victoria Garcia, a 28-year-old lawyer, discovered Korean music through Psy's hit "Gangnam style," released in 2012. It was during the pandemic, in 2020, that she fully immersed herself in K-pop, starting with BTS videos on James Corden's "Carpool Karaoke" show. Victoria has the habit of traveling to see shows and festivals.

The South Korean genre gains a dedicated day at this edition of Rock in Rio, with performances by Stray Kids and Hwasa. The lineup marks the consolidation of K-pop as one of the festival's highlights, attracting more and more Brazilian fans to the musical style.

Rock in Rio 2026 also brings new guidelines for the City of Rock, with information about what is allowed to bring to the event. GLOBO created an interactive tool called "My Dream Rock in Rio," where readers can customize their festival experience.
