The club reported that the person responsible for throwing the bottle was identified and banned from accessing the stadium. The incident occurred during the match against the Italian team.
After the game, at the press conference, Kartal announced he was leaving the position. It was only his 11th match in charge of the team. The resignation request was rejected by the club president, who announced the coach would remain.
Fenerbahçe expressed support for Ismail Kartal through social media, stating that he remains in charge of the technical team.
