The Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro, through the Theft and Robbery Division (DRF), discovered a clandestine scrap yard in the Carobinha region, in Campo Grande, in the West Zone, that sold stolen public materials. The operation resulted in the arrest of the person responsible for qualified receiving and qualified theft. More than 400 traffic signs, traffic lights, train rails, fire hydrants, copper wires, manhole covers and other public equipment were seized, totaling almost two tons of materials without provenance. Many of the items were in perfect condition, indicating they would be resold. The establishment operated without a license.
