Revolutionizing Veterinary Teaching: The Science of André Galvão

oglobo10 September 2026 at 16:59

The university professor and researcher André Luiz Baptista Galvão has been developing innovative teaching methodologies applied to Veterinary Medicine. Among his outstanding projects, the most recent is the "Vetdata" software, developed for recording and managing clinical records and files. This project earned him the award for Outstanding Advisor Professor in May 2026, granted by the Biterr-IEL program in partnership with SEBRAE Roraima.

Another outstanding initiative is the project "Sounds of the Heart of Amazon Animals," focused on environmental awareness and animal welfare. The methodology uses realistic plush toys that reproduce the heartbeats of local species to educate students at various educational levels.

In three years of operation, the project reached approximately 5,800 visitors and accumulated awards at national and international congresses. Its activities also expanded to British Guiana, increasing its international reach.

In addition to its educational and environmental impact, the project also extends its reach to the public health area through the branch "Health in the Host Environment...", although the details of this extension are incomplete in the article.
