OLI, the Portuguese company that forged the dual-flush toilet

Expresso10 September 2026 at 22:57

OLI is a Portuguese company specialized in the manufacturing of cisterns and flushing systems for sanitary installations. The company has been investing in research and development to expand the functionalities of its products beyond their traditional use.

Among the most innovative projects of OLI are toilet seats capable of collecting user health data, transforming a common household object into a physiological monitoring device.

The company is also developing cisterns specially designed to work in microgravity environments, meaning in Space, where traditional flushing systems would not work due to the absence of weight.

António Ricardo Oliveira, leader of OLI, participated in the "Innovation League" program to share these initiatives and discuss the role of innovation in everyday objects. The full conversation is available in podcast format.
