The alliance between Uber, WeRide and Avomo obtained the first licenses in Spain to carry out level 4 autonomous car circulation tests on public roads in Madrid. The announcement was made by Uber Technologies this Thursday.

Level 4 autonomous vehicles are those capable of driving completely autonomously under specific conditions, without the need for human intervention in most situations.

This authorization represents a milestone in the autonomous vehicle industry in Spain, allowing the three companies to test their technology in a real environment on Madrid's roads.

The partnership between Uber, the Chinese autonomous driving company WeRide and Avomo aims to accelerate the development and implementation of autonomous vehicle services in Europe.
