A family from Senoia, Georgia, in the United States, discovered that their 19-year-old cat was still alive, even though it had been left at a veterinary hospital to be euthanized. The cat, named Annie, suffered from health problems due to arthritis.
The case was reported by Brian Jagt, the animal's owner, who filed a police report with the Senoia Police Department after discovering that an employee at the Senoia Veterinary Hospital did not perform the euthanasia procedure on the animal, keeping it alive.
According to information from local outlet WSB-TV, the family took Annie for euthanasia in February 2025. Since Brian filed the police report, the hospital reimbursed the Jagt family and Annie was finally euthanized on August 13.
