Fire hits historic Nicola café in downtown Lisbon. No injuries

A fire hit the historic Café Nicola in downtown Lisbon. The alert was given shortly after 3:00 PM and the flames were extinguished about an hour later, near 4:00 PM. No injuries were recorded in the incident.

The Regimento de Sapadores Bombeiros de Lisboa deployed 30 operatives to the scene, supported by about ten vehicles, to combat the flames and ensure the safety of the surrounding area.

Café Nicola is a historic establishment located in downtown Lisbon, being one of the most emblematic cafés in the city. The fire represents a significant incident for this traditional space.

GNR of Valongo (Campo) arrests 30-year-old robber

The GNR of Valongo arrested this morning a 30-year-old man in the act while attempting to rob a residence in Campo. Authorities were already monitoring the suspect, who resides in a social housing complex, and used a bicycle as his usual means of transport. A young woman gave testimony before the Provincial Court of Castellón about an alleged case of sexual assault and six other crimes committed by her partner. In court, the victim described how the relationship started well but became violent, with jealousy, possessiveness, constant insults and aggressiveness. According to her account, the man would tell her expressions such as "you make me want to kill you," "bitch," "fuck off" and "daughter of a bitch." The woman also recounted that her mother-in-law told her to leave, warning that her son would end up in prison and she would be dead.
