Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, reiterated this Thursday that there was no alert from the National Intelligence Centre (CNI) prior to the massive and irregular entry of migrants in Ceuta, which occurred on July 30 and 31.
Marlaska made these statements during the inauguration of the new National Police station in Andújar, in the province of Jaén, when questioned about the CNI documentation regarding the events in Ceuta.
The Interior Secretary stated that he has said this "since the beginning, in all his statements and appearances and with other Government representatives," emphasizing that there was no alert about a massive irregular entry in the terms in which it ultimately occurred.
The minister thus reaffirmed his initial position regarding the lack of prior information that would have allowed anticipating the migratory crisis at the Spanish border of Ceuta.
