Four young people from Lousã will be honored next Saturday, September 12, at a ceremony marking the 90th anniversary of their participation in events against the Salazar regime. The young people challenged the National Dictatorship in the 1930s, at a time when Portugal was living under the Estado Novo regime.
The courage of these four residents of the municipality became a landmark in local and national history, being remembered to this day. Their participation in the opposition movement represents an example of youthful resistance against the political oppression of the era.
The tribute event aims to recognize the role of these young people in the struggle for freedom and preserve the historical memory of the municipality. The ceremony promises to bring together local authorities and the community to pay tribute to those who risked their lives in the name of democratic values.
