The prices of old iPhone models still on sale at the Apple store did not fall as in previous years. On the contrary, the models had adjustments of up to 14.8%, with increases of up to R$ 2 thousand compared to previously practiced values.
The cause of this rise is related to artificial intelligence. The strong demand from AI data centers for memory and storage chips caused component shortages and pushed up global price indices for smartphones, tablets, notebooks, and other electronic devices.
Among the old models, the iPhone Air, presented last year as Apple's major novelty, had the highest price adjustments. The 1 TB version went from R$ 13,499 to R$ 15,499, representing a 14.8% increase.
