Experts detect a new pattern of youth violence: earlier, more impulsive and with more bladed weapons

Specialists are detecting a new pattern of youth violence characterized by being earlier, more impulsive, and with greater use of bladed weapons. This trend is evidenced by recent cases in different localities in Catalonia that have alarmed both authorities and local communities.

In Manresa, Barcelona, a tragedy occurred during local festivities on September 1, when a group of boys aged between 15 and 16 were involved in a brawl that resulted in the stabbing death of a 45-year-old man who tried to mediate the conflict. Four young people were arrested by authorities in connection with this incident, leaving the neighboring community stunned and questioning the motivations behind the violence.

In the city of Balaguer, in Lleida, authorities confirmed that a minor remains in detention in a closed facility for alleged participation in the death of a 26-year-old man, which occurred on August 26. The young man lost his life following a traffic accident, with his body being found with multiple stab wounds, raising questions about the circumstances of the crime.

Both cases illustrate a growing concern about violence among minors, with specialists pointing to a pattern of aggressiveness that is increasingly younger and less premeditated, using weapons such as knives and razors more frequently than in previous generations.
