European Central Bank (ECB) president Christine Lagarde appeared this Thursday in Frankfurt with a pessimistic economic tone, dressed in black, to present the new projections and decisions of the European monetary institution.
The ECB decided to tighten financial conditions in the eurozone, raising the deposit rate to 2.50% due to the recent resurgence of inflation in the community region.
The institution also updated its economic projections until 2028, considering a scenario in which the euríbor remains at 3% until that date. Additionally, the ECB anticipates inflation that could reach 5.4% if the geopolitical conflict worsens.
These projections indicate that no immediate respite is expected for either mortgages or consumer prices in the eurozone in the short and medium term.
