Mais Semanário10 September 2026 at 15:45

Next Saturday, September 12, the seafront of Póvoa de Varzim will host the '360º Póvoa Games', a free event organized by the Parish Council of Póvoa de Varzim, which aims to bring together different generations and reveal the city's spaces and sports to the people of Póvoa. The continuous circuit of experiences will stretch between the Marina and Diana-Bar.

In the nautical zone, next to the Clube Naval Povoense, solar boat rides, inflatable boat rides, and sailing will be offered, as well as SUP and kayaking activities at the ISN ramp. The Skate Park will host free skate and skating lessons, accompanied by a tricks competition. The Lota Auditorium will provide trampolines, inflatables, and traditional Póvoa games, while the Diana-Bar library will be transformed into a space dedicated to arcade games and classic console emulators such as Spectrum, Atari, Amiga, and PlayStation 1.

Ricardo Silva, president of the Parish Council of Póvoa de Varzim, explained that the initiative was born to fill a gap aimed at teenagers and youth, since there are strong activities for primary school and seniors. The mayor highlighted that the goal is to promote what Póvoa has to offer, including the skate park, which he considered to be one of the most interesting in the country. The focus is also on intergenerational participation, inviting parents and children to try out together activities they have never tested before.

All activities are free, with participants simply needing to show up, pick up a wristband on site, and wait for their turn. The event also maintains a partnership with Acreditar – Association of Parents and Friends of Children with Cancer, inviting participants to leave a donation or purchase solidarity t-shirts, with proceeds destined to support families affected by the disease.
