The president of the Municipality of Calheta, Doroteia Leça, attended the opening session of the IV Food Encounter of Madeira, which took place at the Saccharum Resort & Spa. In her speech, the mayor highlighted the municipality's conditions for business activity, referring to the territory's characteristics, namely the climate and soil.
Doroteia Leça gave an assurance to producers and officials from mainland Portugal, stating that the municipality is "with open doors for whoever needs, for your businesses, for your initiatives". The event brought together representatives from the food sector, both from the autonomous region and from mainland Portugal.
The encounter aims to promote the food sector and discuss issues related to the production and commercialization of food products in the Madeira region.
