The PSP carried out, on September 7 and 8, an inspection operation at a terrain in the Cabra Figa area, in Rio de Mouro, following information about alleged illegal car repair activity and structures that could be used for residential purposes. The action was conducted by the Police Inspection Brigade of the Sintra Police Division.
During the operation, the agents located two vehicles that were reported as stolen, proceeding with their seizure for subsequent return to their legitimate owners. In the vicinity of the terrain, several vehicles in apparent state of abandonment or destined for repair were also identified, some parked on the public road, a situation that was reported to the Sintra Municipal Police.
The PSP collected evidence on possible irregularities in the environmental and urban areas, namely related to the possible car repair activity and the existence of precarious structures for housing. According to the authorities, the repair activity may involve the production and storage of waste such as used oils, filters, batteries and tires, with the need to verify the storage and routing conditions of these materials being at stake.
The result of the inspection was communicated to the Public Prosecutor's Office and the remaining competent entities, which will proceed with the necessary procedures.
