Developer Pawel Szydlowski, 30 years old, created an application that detects when someone is wearing Meta glasses nearby. The app works as an alert system for people who may be filmed without their consent.
Szydlowski justifies the creation of the application by saying that, "as a society, we have at least the right to know if someone is recording" nearby. The developer thus advocates for people's right to privacy from being captured by hidden cameras in smart glasses.
The application is available for free on iPhone, allowing anyone with an Apple device to use it to protect themselves from possible unauthorized filming.
