Alentejo 2030 supports acquisition of equipment for professional retraining training in the Litoral Alentejo

The Alentejo 2030 Regional Programme announced the opening of a Call for Proposals called "Equipment to support professional retraining training (JTF)", aimed at the acquisition of equipment intended for professional retraining training in the Litoral Alentejo region.

The call is intended for the acquisition of equipment that strengthens training capacity in the area of renewable energies, contributing to the qualification and professional retraining of workers in the region.

This initiative aims at the development of skills aligned with the needs of the local labour market, promoting the transition to strategic sectors such as renewable energies.

The programme falls under the JTF (Just Transition Fund), which supports vulnerable regions in adapting to the economic and environmental transformations imposed by the transition to a more sustainable economy.

Insolvencies grow in August. Hotel sector records biggest worsening

Insolvencies in Portugal increased by 5.1% year-on-year through August, with 619 insolvency proceedings filed by the companies themselves in the first eight months of the year. Insolvencies requested by third parties grew by 7.1%, while those filed by the companies themselves rose by 3.1%. Lisbon records the highest number of insolvencies (271), followed by Porto (242) and Braga (154), although Aveiro, Setúbal, Faro and Leiria are the municipalities with the highest growth. The Hospitality and Catering sector was the most affected, with a rise of 36.2%, followed by other services (15%) and construction and public works (13%). During the same period, the creation of new companies fell by 8.85%, with only 3,151 new companies incorporated in August, with Lisbon, Porto and Setúbal leading the incorporation of new companies.
