Póvoa de Varzim driver Afonso Santos returns to the Portuguese Rally Championship with the aim of keeping the Junior title race alive. The young driver, from Póvoa de Varzim, will have his sister, Mafalda Santos, as co-driver, in a partnership that he says strengthens confidence to face one of the most demanding rallies of the season.

Afonso Santos is in second place in the Junior classification of the national championship, with real aspirations to the title. The driver emphasizes that he intends to maintain consistency throughout the season and fight for the title until the last rally, after a good joint performance in Vale de Cambra, where he contested the victory among the two-wheel drive cars.

The Póvoa de Varzim duo will compete with the Peugeot 208 Rally4 from PT Racing, considering this event a decisive moment in the season. The chemistry between the siblings has been positive, and Afonso believes the partnership will continue to improve throughout the events.

The Eurocidade Chaves-Verín Transiberian Water Rally starts this Thursday, September 10th, in Chaves, with a autograph session at 9:00 PM and symbolic departure at 10:00 PM. The competition continues until Saturday, with fast and technical roads that will be decisive for the Póvoa de Varzim duo's aspirations.
