The Monumental Complex of Santiago da Guarda, in the municipality of Ansião, hosts another edition of the Roman Forum on September 12 and 13. The event, promoted by the Municipality of Ansião, recreates environments, activities and experiences of the Roman era, offering two days of shows, processions, music, dance, arts and crafts, market and taverns.
On Saturday, the program begins with the "Legionary Patrol," the eagle's flight and "Music of the Empire," followed by a seminar on the legacy of Rome. The official opening features a Roman procession, welcome ceremony and reading of the opening decree, with coin minting demonstrations and the Roman camp open to the public.
The taverns are organized by local associations, including the Cultural and Recreational Association of Lagoa Parada, the Association of Residents and Friends of Lugar dos Netos, Os Moscardos Association, the Friendship and Social Animation Center of Santiago da Guarda and the Sports Union of Santiago da Guarda, integrating the local associative movement into the event's implementation.
Throughout the weekend, the program includes acrobatics, circus arts, music, dance, "Taberníadas," roaming entertainment, fire shows at the amphitheater, "Romaníadas" games and children's activities, culminating with the market closing on Sunday evening.
