The director of the D. Sancho III school grouping, Carlos Peixoto, spoke about the impact of Artificial Intelligence on education, admitting that this technology already has "a lot of impact" in the classroom. According to Carlos Peixoto, the school has been gradually keeping pace with technological evolution, with tools used daily, such as search engines and the virtual school, already incorporating artificial intelligence.
For the director, it is necessary to accept the existence of AI and know how to deal with it, always maintaining a critical and ethical spirit. Carlos Peixoto argues that teachers, being at the center of the educational process, should view AI as a tool that will assist them in both teaching and learning.
Carlos Peixoto also clarified that a school grouping is not innovative merely by the fact of using AI, but rather by using this tool for the benefit of students, creating increasingly facilitating and inclusive strategies that result in better learning.
The statements were made in the context of the 2026 Pedagogical Days in Alijó, where Carlos Peixoto also expressed the wish that the new school year be peaceful and that the school community be involved.
