Peruvian chef Pia León, considered in 2021 the Best Female Chef in the World, was in Portugal as part of João Rodrigues' Residency, which began its third season. During her visit to the Algarve, Pia León swam with tunas, an experience that was part of her discovery of the region.
The chef cooked at the Ocean restaurant, where she presented her gastronomy using products from both Portugal and Peru. This fusion of ingredients from the two countries was at the center of her performance during the residency.
In the Algarve, Pia León discovered the Jesuits of Culatra, a group with history in the region. This cultural discovery complements her gastronomic experience in Portugal, showing the connection between cuisine and local history.
