Second weekend of Rock in Rio 2026 forecast to bring more rain and cold weather

cbn10 September 2026 at 11:57

The first weekend of Rock in Rio 2026 was marked by rain on most days and cold weather, with maximum temperatures below 25°C on all four first days. The storm hit hardest on Sunday, the 6th, while the lowest temperature was recorded on Monday (7th), with a high of just 17°C at the City of Rock.

Anyone hoping for better weather the following week was disappointed. The weather in Rio de Janeiro continued under rain and cold throughout the week, and the trend is that this situation will continue between the 11th and 13th.

The situation is expected to worsen over the coming days. On Friday (11th), the weather should be milder and dry during show hours, despite moderate winds still making a jacket necessary. Rain should only appear in the morning.

Sunday is shaping up to be the worst day, with rain expected to persist throughout the entire day at the City of Rock.

Tomorrow temperatures will rise between 3 and 5°C in the northern half of Portugal

A significant temperature rise of 3 to 5°C is expected in the northern half of mainland Portugal from Thursday onwards, with the heat intensifying until Monday, the 14th. After a period of cooling caused by polar air, the thermal recovery will begin mildly today and will be more pronounced tomorrow, with the 'peak' of heat expected at the beginning of next week. The cause of this meteorological configuration will be the expansion of the African anticyclonic ridge, which will extend from the Azores and Madeira to the Iberian Peninsula.
