Saudi Arabia carried out 40 air strikes against Houthi positions in Yemen. The attacks hit four provinces of the country.

The Saudi offensive was a response to previous attacks carried out by the Houthis. These attacks caused fires in several oil facilities.

The Houthi attacks also resulted in dozens of wounded. The escalation of violence between the two sides continues to worry the international community.

Lousã pays tribute to four participants in the Sailors' Revolt 90 years later

The Municipality of Lousã will hold on Saturday a ceremony to pay tribute to four Lousã residents who participated in the 1936 Sailors' Revolt, an insurrection against the Salazarist dictatorship that took place at the mouth of the Tagus and failed, resulting in strong repression. The program includes a historical conference, exhibition of documentation and cultural moments, with the expected presence of relatives of those honored. Among the four participants are Ismael Fernandes, one of the 12 killed in the revolt, Hermínio Martins, who spent 15 years at the Tarrafal Concentration Camp, Adelino Mendes, exiled in Cuba and distinguished by Fidel Castro, and Jorge Antunes dos Santos, who went into exile in France.

Yemeni Houthi Shiite rebels took control of the city of Mokha on the Red Sea and were advancing toward the strategic Strait of Bab el-Mandeb, according to Yemeni government sources. Witnesses reported that rebel forces entered the port city shouting anti-American and anti-Israeli slogans. The territorial advances, supported by Iran, occur in the context of bombings by the Saudi-led coalition supporting the Yemeni government.

Saudi Arabia carried out around 40 airstrikes against Yemen's Houthi rebels in the last few hours, after Houthi attacks on Saudi territory caused fires at oil facilities. The Shiite rebels, supported by Iran, announced they had taken control of the city of Mokha, on the Red Sea, and were advancing toward the strategic Bab el-Mandeb strait. Houthi forces also took control of the entire Al-Hodeida province, expelling forces of the internationally recognized Government from the city of Hays. The worsening of the conflict in the Middle East caused the price of Brent crude to exceed $102, the highest value since May.
