The Islamic State carried out an attack against the tourist camp belonging to Portuguese-Mozambican coach Carlos Queiroz, located in northern Mozambique. The camp was completely destroyed following the assault.
The attack resulted in the death of at least one person. Additionally, more than two thousand people were forced to flee the area and are now displaced due to the incident.
Northern Mozambique has been the scene of extremist violence in recent years, with groups linked to the Islamic State carrying out regular attacks in the region, particularly in Cabo Delgado province.
