The State Attorney General, Teresa Peramato, gave her first formal speech on Thursday at the opening of the Judicial Year, in which she addressed the migratory crisis in Ceuta. Peramato sent a message of recognition and solidarity to the citizens of Ceuta, praising how they have been facing especially complex situations related to migration at the borders.
According to the attorney general, the population of Ceuta responded to these circumstances with serenity, responsibility and proximity towards the migrants who arrived at the borders in conditions of great vulnerability.
Peramato argued that the return to normality in Ceuta is not incompatible with humanity values, suggesting that it is possible to manage the migratory situation while maintaining humanitarian principles. This speech marks her first formal intervention since assuming the position of State Attorney General.
