Suspect of drug trafficking remains in preventive detention in Madeira

The Public Prosecutor's Office presented two suspects to the first judicial interrogation strongly indicated for the practice of a drug trafficking crime in Madeira. One of the suspects was placed in preventive detention.

The two suspects have been involved, since at least May of this year, in the sale of alpha-PVP, commonly known as 'flakka', as well as cannabis leaves and tops and cannabis resin to third parties, namely resellers.

Arrested for possession of prohibited weapons

The Territorial Command of Santarém, through the Coruche Territorial Post, arrested on September 9 a 53-year-old man for possession of prohibited weapons. The arrest came as a result of an investigation into domestic violence that had been ongoing for about two months, with a home search warrant being executed. The arrested person was brought before the Judicial Court of Santarém, being subject to a Statement of Identity and Residence. The operation was supported by military personnel from the Coruche Territorial Detachment and the Santarém Technical Support Unit.

MP-RJ denounces thirteen people involved in the death of a cyclist in Copacabana

The Public Prosecutor's Office of Rio de Janeiro denounced thirteen people involved in the death of cyclist Cláudio Rafael Landeiro, who was killed in the early morning of August 12 in Copacabana after being falsely accused of stealing a bicycle that belonged to his sister. Cláudio had mental disorders and was beaten for six minutes. Four of those denounced are already in prison, including two clandestine security guards and two men dressed as app delivery workers. Wellington Luiz Santos de Souza was identified as the man who delivered the fatal kick to the victim's head. The Civil Police analyzed 12 hours of security camera footage and investigations continue to investigate a possible irregular private security scheme.
