Alpiarça welcomes teachers at the start of the new school year

The Municipality of Alpiarça received on Wednesday, September 9, the teachers and education assistants from the José Relvas School Grouping of Alpiarça. The welcoming moment marked the beginning of a new school year in the municipality.

The reception took place at the Auditorium of Casa dos Patudos, a cultural space in the region. The president of the Municipal Council of Alpiarça, Sónia Sanfona, was responsible for welcoming the education professionals present at the event.

Metropolitan Volunteering Academy: Transforming Lives Through Social Commitment

Thirty-four young people from the Metropolitan Volunteering Academy participated yesterday in a plogging action in Maia, collecting around 600 kg of garbage, including tires and asphalt membrane, in an initiative by the Metropolitan Area of Porto dedicated to environmental sustainability and civic participation. The Councilor for Youth, Susana Junqueira Neto, received the participants at the Parish Council of Nogueira e Silva Escura, followed by a tribute ceremony at the Hilton Hotel, in Gaia, currently the Portuguese Capital of Volunteering. Maia is preparing to be the European Capital of Volunteering in 2026, reaffirming its commitment to promoting youth volunteering and training more conscious citizens.

SASUP Opens Applications for Collaborators Grant 2026/2027

The Social Action Services of the University of Porto (SASUP) have opened applications for the Collaborators Grant for the first semester of 2026/2027. The initiative, which is part of the U.Porto Social Support Fund, is aimed at undergraduate and master's students and aims to promote student participation in projects and activities of the institution.
