The Portuguese winegrowers took to the streets this Thursday in a national demonstration that took place in 39 locations across the country. The producers protested in defense of Portuguese grapes and wine, expressing dissatisfaction with what they consider to be the uncontrolled entry of wine and grapes from Spain.
The demonstration took place under the slogan "No to fraud, yes to what's Portuguese," expressing the main concern of the winegrowers with unfair competition and the entry of Spanish products into the Portuguese market.
The initiative brought together producers from various regions of the country who share the same demands for protection of the national wine sector and more rigorous inspection of imports.
